So far so good... I think !

Hello everybody

You were all so very helpful and kind to me on my first forum post it really set me up. I have cut out most junk, sugar, crisps, biscuits, etc and am trying to up my water intake. I walk briskly for half an hour every day.

Let's see at the end of my dieting week if i have lost any weight or not. My diet is certainly different. I will only weigh myself once a week or I'll go mad (-der)! I weigh myself naked first thing as i get up.

Just checking in

Thank you. :-)

Thank you. I am pretty nervous, if the truth be told.

Don't be nervous, the number on the scales isn't the goal, your health is and the changes you've made to your lifestyle will definitely be improving your health and well-being :)

Now that's a good way to look at it. Especially if I don't lose. I'm going to write that down.

Good to hear!! You've made a positive start. Can I suggest you join in with the Daily diaries and a weekly weigh day? You'll get loads of advice and some fantastic ideas for meals and its a great place for support.

In the months before I took action for my weight and to relearn better, positive eating ( and drinking ) habits, I wasn't particularly keen on sharing my initial start weight, but came to realise that the completely non-judgemental support and encouragement outweighed the embarassment I felt at the beginning and I haven't looked back!!

Then I shall be very open too.

Well tonight I am having chicken, with oven baked courgettes, red peppers, green peppers, onion, sprouts and broccoli.

babette22 profile image

The sprouts and broccoli are not oven baked!

Yep,really! Put them in a freezer bag and season with salt, pepper, garlic (optional)and a drizzle of olive oil, about an hour before cooking, tip out of the bag , 30-40 mins at 180°C you'll never boil them again :)

Another way to cook your sprouts is to slice them and add a bit of bacon to them or if you are vegan or vegetarian then just add an alternative. It’s done for a bit of flavour then you could steam the whole thing.

I'm glad you are doing well. You sound very positive and motivated which is great and you have made some good changes. Your dinner tonight sounds delicious.

I'm sure you are feeling better and healthier for the changes even if the scales don't show a big loss. The body can take time to adapt. My weigh in routine is the same as yours. I look forward to seeing you on the weigh in on Saturday

Well done . Even if you don’t shed loads of weight as it does come off slowly and when I started intense exercises there was muscle gain -just think that all that junk food ruins your insides too and the sluggishness does nothing for your mental health . Excellent that you are walking so frequently too . My rubbish diet triggered hiatus hernia and I now have Gall Stones . I put this down to years of rubbish , hoovering the kids leftovers and not having that me time to exercise and eat properly. You will see a change all round . Might not be all obvious or overnight but keep this up .

Don’t worry too much if the weight doesn’t drop off straight away. As you exercise your fitness levels will change and your shape will too. The first thing I really noticed was being able to walk further and faster, then the belt went in a notch; all that before any real weight change.

Well done though and keep up your journey. 👍👍👍👍
