Hi lenny1965 and welcome to this amazing forum. I suggest you spend some time clicking about to find your way around. It's easier if you have a lap-top as there are several threads. If you’re using another device I strongly suggest that you use the web page. Have a good read of the pinned post “Welcome Newbies” and follow every thread.

Do you have any dietary needs or things you can't eat ? Will let you know what I make and eat when I know what you like and don't . This isn't a punishment and if you carefully balance your food you can eat plenty and feel great.

Cutting down on sugar maybe needs to be gradual. If you can use plain or Greek yogurt and sweeten with fruit -a few grapes or banana then try a few less sweet fruits like berries . Sweet snacks I have a few raisins or if I have to chop apple or peel an orange then it isn’t as instant as just opening crisps or biscuits. I wouldn’t go overboard with fruit but it’s a start and not as calorie dense . Evenings were nightmare so sipon low cal hot choc , clean your teeth or find something absorbing at night even a jigsaw or go to gym or an evening class at least a couple of nights not be sat down as adverts on TV or munching reading a book became the usual for me in winter . Junk food - is difficult. I sometimes have veggie burgers.Never thought I would wean onto Linda McCartney ones but with loads of onions and peppers or a spicy gravy I am fooled . Make your own chips with chunky potatoes and again highly spice or add herbs . Tinned fish has a lot of flavour . Cooked chicken or even better - thin turkey steaks - use these as your burger meat too . Pizza - maybe have max 3 per month . Look at stone baked bases or just really look at the boxes . Try half with a big salad / jacket potato . Omelettes are simple . I now use tons of herbs , spices and now I actually like fruit tea . Asda do a decent blackcurrant one which I have hot or cold .Treat this as a lifestyle not a diet and you are 80% there . Don’t give up all you like just less of and less often or else your “diet will maybe last about 3 weeks . Don’t beat yourself up Xmas wise as the odd mince pie won’t kill you . Let us know how you get on .
