Hi, there are a few listed here:healthline.com/nutrition/5-...
I only have personal experience with MyFitnessPal, so can’t comment about any others.
I’m happy with the one I’m using - large database, even though you do have to watch whether the details are correct, allows to track weight, allows to scan labels in. The free version is definitely good enough - I tried premium with promotion and never felt the need to extend it.
I use the free version of MyFitnessPal to - I love that you can add your own recipes or download a recipe from the internet and tweak to to what you actually used.
That sounds very clever! How do you download a recipe from the internet? I use my fitness pal but only the basics! I haven’t tried adding my own recipe either I thought it might be beyond my limited tech skills!
on the app
1. click 'more' on bottom right of screen
2. half way down list click 'my meals, recipes & foods'
3. at bottom of the screen click 'create a recipe'
4. two options ' add from web' or 'enter ingredients manually'
5 . under 'add from web' you can select from a list of recipe sites or paste a copied url into the box.
Hope that helps
😀
Me too . I like that you can scan food and it lists your common foods too . Good free app - I agree.
But only track calories, does it has option to log daily the weight? Because I’m using Noom that tracks calories, glasses of water, and weight (then shows a graphic), but I wanted to know if is any better
Yes. I use it to track all of them and my exercise as strength or cardio. I also have mapmywalk on my phone which can automatically link to myfitnesspal
Yes, you have the facility to log weight (also add progress photos), glasses of water and exercises, if you choose to do so. I enter my weight every week on there and I check progress by selecting the time frame I want to see - it produces a graph. The weight can equally be entered daily. You just click the button to add and choose what you would like to add - see pic below. Hope it helps.
usually there are free apps on your smart phone which have calorie counters, step counters and other exercise counters. I have a samsung so I use their own. Look at your app store on your phone if its not already embedded.

Hi PLopezzz I would recommend the 12 week NHS plan. It is free and calorie counts and for 12 weeks records your daily intake and weight loss. You then download the easy meal plan recipes and its as easy as that. Recipes are varied and easy to cook. Then they take you to lots of fitness apps. I used the active 10 which counts your walking steps and there is lots of advise on the way. I lost 18 lb in the twelve weeks and if you want to lose more you can reset it to do it again. I learnt so much from it that I don't need to calorie count now and know more about what to eat and portion control. Glad to see you on here as you will find lots of support . Good luck on your journey. X
Like carer 53 I recommend the nhs app half way through it and I'm 12lb down xx
Lose it is great can use. Can scan bar codes And stores your regular foods and connects with a smart watch.
I use my fitness pal, I also use fitbit scales and the scales synch your weight to your fitbit account which sends it to your myfitness pal account as well, there's a cost to buying the scales and fitbit watch but otherwise free.
I don't know any app that can show you your exact weight and be very accurate. However, I've been using this weight scale vont.com/product/smart-scal... for several months, and it's one of the best motivators. It shows your exact body measurements every time, and it has a phone app with many cool features, so I think it's worth the money. I started my weight loss journey five months ago, and I have already lost 20 pounds. The fact that I see those numbers becoming better and better every time I use the scale motivates me to keep going.
Hello Tiltovich
The question you've responded to is quite an old one so I'm not sure the original poster will see your reply.
Thanks for joining in though, and welcome to Weight Loss Support.
