August 2019 and August 2020. 55lb lost aka 25kg . It's not easy. I felt demotivated at times, such as right now. Put on a few pounds from holidays but feeling determined to keep going. I know I can do this. We all can.

Main thing is to just give yourself time and recognise your achievements and goals no matter how small.

Keep well everyone x

Wow.... that is an amazing transformation. Well done you. And thanks for sharing, it is moticational knowlng that it can be done.

What plan did you use?

SuccessfulLoser profile image
SuccessfulLoser in reply to ScoutyPat

Exactly. It can be done! Whether you make little changes, big changes, diets, exercise. The main things is time and patience and staying motivated, which can also be the most difficult part.

I didn't follow a specific plan but I tend to try and ensure my diet is in this sort of proportion. Fats: 40-50%. Protein: 25-35%. Carbs: 15-25%. As well as this I monitored my calorie intake.

This attempts to control any blood sugar spikes that promote the storage of fat.

The main thing is what works for you. If you control your portions but ensure you're full and satisfied and get the nutrition you need that's the main thing :)

Hi successdullloser, you look fabulous, you must be so pleased, terrific weight loss. I think we all struggle at times, I am today. I really fancy either chocolate or biscuits, I’m not hungry I just want something other then fruit/ vegetables and protein. I don’t have chocolate in the house so can’t have any thank goodness. Your photo is inspirational, might stop me being naughty today🙃

Getting through cravings can be so tough! I feel you.

Something I've tried: If you like it, get some 85% dark chocolate and some almonds. A square or two of dark chocolate can help satisfy the cravings and it is packed full of antioxidants, more so than blueberries. You can combine it with the almonds for an indulgent but guilt free snack. The main thing is always the portion size.

It's important to treat yourself now and again but I hope you can get through the spell of cravings. You know it will pass :)

You weight loss is absolutely amazing, you look great. Is that maybe 3 or 4 dress sizes ? I am unsure how I got to this page. I thought I had logged on to NHS website. Do they provide a diet or just advice? Many thanks

SuccessfulLoser profile image
SuccessfulLoser in reply to grubsup

The NHS can provide eating advice and a weight loss please. See here for the plan and some useful links on nutrition, calories and weight loss :) I didn't officially use this, but it's a healthy way to go about it! nhs.uk/live-well/healthy-we...

Hello and welcome, grubsup 😊

You probably did come here via the NHS site but members here follow a wide range of plans and all are supported, as you'll see when you get involved here.

You'll find all our groups and activities in Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... , plus a Welcome message. A good place to start is with a weekly weigh-in on the day of your choice, and the Daily Diary, where members share their meal plans.

This gives you a tour of the forum healthunlocked.com/?tour=true and, along with Pinned Posts, will show you how things work. Active participation can be a great boost to your own efforts so I hope you'll become an active member and we will see you joining in around the forum 😊

PS the app doesn’t give access to all parts of the forum so we advise everyone to get rid of the app and log on to the full website using the browser on their phone

How about taking some measurements, too? Sometimes there's a change in the inches when the scales aren't being so friendly :)

SuccessfulLoser profile image
SuccessfulLoser in reply to BridgeGirl

Definitely agree there. Waist and thigh measurements especially!

That's the point IT CAN BE DONE. It's mostly a matter of patience and motivation. And it can be hard to maintain that for very long!

Haha I appreciate that. I have a bit more to go but it's mainly also toning up and being fit. It's not just about the scales I would like to be healthier in general :) I think that's what people should strive for over anything else.
