Certainly :)

This will get you off to a good start dietdoctor.com/low-carb There's a free 2 week introduction you can sign up to or you can use the recipes and 'Visual low carb guides' (about 1/3 of the way down) to put your own meals plans together.

For best results, aim for fewer than 20g of carbs for the first two weeks. This is pretty restrictive but don't despair. You will be able to gradually ease up after that and, if you stay under 50g (some can go as high as 100), you should do fine.

For further support and information, join the LCHF forum healthunlocked.com/lchf-diet

Also, once you've done some reading and planning, post your menus on the Daily Diary where you'll get encouragement and ideas to keep you going. I see you used the Diary a while ago: this will help you find it again healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

All the best :)

I had a lot of success following Fast800 for a month, then transitioning to a more standard low carb diet.

My husband and I follow low carb and have lost lost of inches. All my husbands trousers and shorts are falling down. We don’t actually do any counting or measuring. We just don’t eat bread, rice, potatoes, or pasta. We also don’t eat any sugar at all and only eat berries, no other fruit.

+1 to the suggestions from BridgeGirl . I've also posted a few starter guides to low-carb if you scan back a year or two in the LCHF forum!

Belisarius, I saw your initial post and identified with it immediately. I'm 62, 63 in September, and noted that you seem to be in exactly the same place as I was in January, 2016. Fortunately, I had good support from my GP. I'd run out of one of my (4!) blood pressure medications over the Christmas holidays and I found myself in his clinic the very first day it opened after the New Year. My doctor asked, "Your blood pressure is up. How much do you weigh?" "Well, I've been meaning to find out one of these days", I replied.

"Let's find out right now", my doctor said.

I must say I was mortified to see that I was the heaviest I had ever been in my life: 304 lbs!

But then my doctor said, "Don't worry, 2016 is the year we're going to get some weight off you." And he was right. I just surrendered to the need to take all possible action to forestall the inevitable medical consequences of being 150 pounds overweight. During the next six months I acted on his advice. I enrolled in a medically-supervised diet and exercise program where I attended thrice-weekly scheduled hour long exercise sessions. I kept a food-log and carbohydrates diary where I kept meticulous notes as to every morsel of food and drink consumed, and I supplemented all of that by bicycle-commuting to work up to five days per week.

Do let me know how I might help and support you. I'm in your corner and will cheer you on every step of the way!

Don't worry, we'll get a few pounds off you and get you back out onto the links soon!
