A quick thank you and here's to 2024

I thought I would pop on here to wish everyone a Very Happy New Year for 2024 before the network crashes !! To everyone who have posted, hosted and supported 'Thank You' 🥰

2023 has been a year of up and down for me, my weight loss has been slow ( and for some time, stopped!) Even after 3 years ( I joined this fabulous community in 2020) there are habits that have proven difficult to break , I am nothing if not a work in progress!!

There have been some fantastic highlights to 2024 though, I completed my first Half Marathon In June and on the hottest day in October I ran a Metric Marathon ( 16.1 mile) and I enjoyed it that much, I am doing it again in 2024!!!

2024 also sees the greatest reason for me to be best version of me possible - my daughter gets married in May and I am so excited I could burst 🥰🥰

I now have the task of finding THE perfect outfit !!!

I don't do New Years Resolutions but have intentions and these are my three for 2024:

1: Eat healthier ( paying particular attention to carb intake, reducing alcohol and drinking more water) 🌶️🥦🍅🍗🥩

2: Run more miles, enter more races and continue to enjoy it🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

3: Dance like no one is watching💃🕺💃🕺💃🕺

I love the intentions instead of resolutions way of thinking, might adopt that one as well. I also intend to dance like no-one is watching although is! I'm with you on the drink more water one as well. 2 out of 3 ain't bad. Have an awesome start to 2024 x

To think I've inspired someone to run is quite humbling. If you're completely new to running, I recommend using the C25k app. It's brilliant and starts you off gradually over 9 weeks. At the end of which you're running non stop for 30 minutes.

I have ran in the past, but not in the last few years. To be honest I have some back issues and used it as the "reason" I hadn't tried anymore...The truth is that I used that as an excuse not to even try. Seeing your message made me think and I am keen to get back into it, so thank you!!
