Hi PB30
I am in a similar place and have been on here for a week, currently heavier than I have ever been and feeling dreadful, wondering why I let myself feel so awful again- you are not alone.
But you, like me, want to lose it again and that’s great. Being on here is a first step - you’ve lost it once so can do it again. Small steps and stay positive. We can do this as a community I’m sure. Good luck
Hello
What did you do to lose the weight initially? Are you crash dieting so you end up over eating when the diet is over? You need to find something you can stick to for life so try not to make it too restrictive. I have heard good things about SW and WW as no foods are off limits but I’ve not tried them myself. I have a big problem with crash dieting and binge eating so I am currently trying to eat 3 balanced meals a day and exercise. I’m doing the nhs live well plan so I’m sticking to 1400kcals which seems a lot as I usually drastically cut my calorie intake but the weight is very slowly coming off and I don’t feel tired or hungry. The best thing someone suggested to me was count how many calories you eat in a normal week and then reduce this amount by reducing the amount of snacks and portion size - so if you have 2 x sausage and mash for tea have 1 x sausage and less mash than usual. This way you are not restricting yourself.
It wasn't a crash diet it was intermittent fasting. I haven't changed anything, I just gain weight! I will try the NHS live well plan like you.
Hello Bubblez199 and welcome back to the forum
I see you were here early last year. How have you been doing since then? As you're following the NHS plan, have you checked the NHS BMI calculator so you are following the correct calorie range for you? The 1400 figure is generic and suits very few of us., If you've eaten well below that in the past, that's probably what has stalled your weight loss as it will have slowed your metabolism. That may take some time to adjust but I'm sure you can do it by eating at the level advised for you, and going for fresh foods, home cooked, avoiding processed stuff including anything labelled low fat or light or diet, and any so-called 'healthy' bars and meals.
If you follow this link to Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... you'll find all the forum activities. I recommend joining a weekly weigh in (why not today?) and using the Daily Diary, where members share their meal plans.
I hope you'll make the most of all the forum has to offer by coming here regularly, reading posts, chatting and encouraging others
