Whilst doing a sort out I have managed to find a bread maker and after checking it still works I am attempting to make my very own bread! If all goes well I might start experimenting with wholemeal loafs. Hopefully should taste better as nothing extra added and has reduced sugar and salt compared to store bought bread.

Attempting to make bread..
I love my breadmaker. It's a tiny tiny one makes a small loaf as there is only the two of us. But much nicer than shop brought (and cheaper) have fun x
Its looking good so far
Mine will be ready in an hour. Shall we have a TOAST to each other. π
Hi AuraShadows and Hidden ,
Great that you're both making your own bread. I'm about to have some Chicken soup with some delicious shop bought bread for my lunch, but I wish I was there with you to enjoy the 'toast' to your delicious home-baked bread - I know that would be really delicious!!!!

I just love homemade bread. . . Well any nice bread tbh . . . It's my kryptonite though π
Bread turned out really well defo gunna attempt some wholemeal bread tomorrow now my tester loaf has almost been devoured by the familly so no worries about it not keeping very long!
Love my bread maker, I do wholemeal, in my recepie book it recommends some white flour as all wholemeal can be heavy. Also have done potato bread, which has leftover mash potato added to it, also rice bread again with leftover rice. Both lovely. Also have made fruit loaves and malted fruit loaves. The bread as you say has no hidden extras, which means it doesnt last so long, but Ive found this is never an issue lol.
I love my breadmaker too. I know what you put in it and I don't have to wonder how many "E"s, treatments and acids there are. All I need is flour, yeast, salt, sugar, oil and water - it just tastes better too.
Homemade bread is amazing. Have fun! βΊ
I have been thinking of getting a bread maker for ages let us know if it does wholemeal well. best wishes Bev
I used to have a bread maker until it stopped working, now, if I do make it, I have to do without. One thing I've noticed is that the recipe calls for flour, yeast and water - salt to taste but no sugar. My bread machine instructions told me salt was essential, but it's not. And the sugar is unnecessary too, for what it's worth!
Tastes lovely though, good for you.
I love home made bread. Just got back into making it again - mostly rolls to have with homemade soup (and generally too much butter : s )
I don't have a breadmaker, but doing it by hand after a stressful day is remarkably thereputic. A bit of a workout too!
I make almost all our bread with my bread maker and wouldn't be without it. Home made bread is just SO much nicer, isn't it? I bought a Hovis sliced wholemeal loaf recently as I needed to make sandwiches in quantity at short notice, and i couldn't believe how extremely SWEET it was - they must put massive amounts of sugar in it
