Hello and welcome, Ferby123
There's plenty of information and support for you here. A good place to start is by joining a weekly weigh in and using the Daily Diary. You'll find both of them, and all the other forum activities in our Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
Active participation can give you a great boost so I hope we'll see you around
Hi, Ferby123 , welcome.
If you "slim smart" weight loss is not so hard! It is not all about motivation and masochism.
Some of us here find that what works is a combination of The Low Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet (see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Snacking All Day AKA Intermittent Fasting (IF). See:

I am a great fan of LCHF - S11m refers below. I have some other too tips for sustainable weight loss:
- do not stuff your face. Ever. You are a human not a large dog. From personal experience this includes not eating family sized sacks of crisps followed by a big bag of toffees - while driving & bored. I refer also to not eating half a large loaf of freshly made bread with butter & marmalade
- again from experience, if you are hiding crisp and sweetie wrappers from the people you live with, something is not quite right
- if you find yourself lying about what you are eating, something is not right at all - this is my mother in law not me...
- if you find yourself justifying your food choices to random people like waitresses & checkout staff, something has gone very wrong. There’s a pub I feel a bit awkward going into now because I regularly ordered chilli nachos for two, just for me
- watch what fat & thin people choose to eat & drink when you are out. Costa is particularly insightful.
Thanks everyone
