Hi happyinlove, welcome to this forum where you can get lots of encouragement and information.
If you are eating less carb than before and your weight is the same, then you must have eaten too much before, hence put on weight. You are now at the break even point, mark this as a reference.
If you are able, further lower carb. Eat more, possibly raw, vegetables. Also, portion control is useful, specially in the evening.
Keep the good habits, like salad for lunch, walking half an hour, etc.
Are you doing the Couch to 5km (C25K)?
Plenty other challenges and plans, too, on the forum.
Tell us more about yourself. What is your weight, BMI, etc? If high, be careful with weight bearing exercises like running.
In which area do you live? I am asking it because of the parkrun.
Hi, I went to Indian restaurants alot when I was first loved up! Part of dating! Lol! Could you try cooking a healthy meal for a date night sometimes instead? x
The last indian meal I had was chicken tikka with salad and raita and I was thinking that was quite healthy but it used to be chicken tikka massala with rice and popadoms washed down with lots of wine ! x
Hi there. I seem t0 have similar problem cooking for a man who likes meat and two veg! Hard to cook something different for myself. I've been trying low calorie for 2/3 weeks. If I lose a bit my body seems to rebel and put the weight back on or at least not lose any more. I read somewhere that this happens as we get older and intermittent fasting works better. So now I'm trying to leave 12/14hrs from supper to breakfast. If I'm concentrating on something its easy but not always. I'm also trying to keep the calories down! I have an arthritic knee. Physio says 1 stone lost is 6 stone of pressure off my knee! Good luck with the run prep😊
I'll refer you back to my welcome message to you, paintnfabric. As we age, we need to look at what we're eating more than how much we're eating. Low calorie is not the way to go, you'll be better with low carb and your hubby will be able to enjoy his meat and two veg, or 6 veg. No tiny, tasteless meals any more
Intermittent fasting, combined with low carb, will work well.
thanks moreless. This all gets very confusing but think you have clarified for me.
Think i have tried this before as have carb count for foods I like on my phone. Must use! So back to drawing board for menus. Tonight steamed hake with new potatoes and broccoli. Brunch tmrrw 1/2 avocado on ryvita. Friend for supper so chicken casseroled with lots veg for me and pots for hubby and her, berry, banana and pineapple salad with plain yogurt (0% fat as have to watch cholesterol levels - refuse to take statins)and cream for friend. Likely an apple somewhere along the line. Sunday tradition dictates a roast but I will have just 1 potato and lots green veg! Beef will be very lean. We don't generally eat puds except if friends around. Will let you know Mon how it goes. Thanks🎨
