Weight loss : Looking to lose 3stone... - Weight Loss Support
Weight loss
Hey Dazza and welcome
I can understand how it can seem urgent to lose weight and that there's a desire to do it as fast as possible. However, to give yourself the best chance of reaching your goal and to maintain that loss, is to eat at levels that allow the body to cope with a reduced intake. Reduce it too much and over time the body fights back and makes weight loss problematical.
If you can, take the time to read the posts and replies as you can learn quite a bit and maybe think about joining in with today's Daily Diary... healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... You'll notice that most people are split between cal counting and a low carb high fat (lchf) approach. Both have the ability to help you reach your goal and you will notice that most are eating really well and making good progress.
Best of luck!
Hi and welcome, Dazza2502
As Tiggerr has said and as I've just advised another new starter, what we're all looking for is sustainable weight loss, so finding a way of eating that you can stick with for the rest of your life is the way to go. Time restricted diets may get rid of the weight quicker, but will probably mess up your metabolism and have you returning next year to lose those 3 stone again, plus an extra stone.
All of the information you need about the forum can be found in Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... and I hope you'll be joining all the Events, Challenges and Clubs that we run, especially a weigh-in and the daily diary.
We've found active participation to be key to successful weight loss and, of course, it's a good way to get to know people, find inspiration and share support and encouragement.
Wishing you all the best
Hi, Dazza2502 , welcome.
It is best not to try to lose weight tooo fast - and the slower you lose it, the easier it is to keep it off.
If you "slim smart" weight loss is not so hard! It is not all about motivation and masochism.
Some of us here find that what works is a combination of The Low Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet (see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Snacking All Day AKA Intermittent Fasting (IF). See:
