Hi everyone, I'm new to this app so not really sure what I'm doing, but hopefully I'll find my way around quickly. I want to lose at least 40lbs by May if possible. Do any of you have any tips or advice for a newbie?

Hi and welcome, Lucie1977
My first bit of advice would be to get rid of the app and log onto the full website, using your browser. The app doesn't give access to the whole forum and will make navigation difficult.
You may also find these interesting healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... and phcuk.org/wp-content/upload...
All of the information you need about the forum can be found in Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... and I hope you'll be joining all the Events, Challenges and Clubs that we run, especially a weigh-in and the daily diary.
We've found active participation to be key to successful weight loss and, of course, it's a good way to get to know people, find inspiration and share support and encouragement.
Wishing you all the best for 2020
I started LCHF with intermittent fasting in December, and in the first month lost 7.4kg, so about 16.4lb(?).
I think 40lb in four months is achievable. Someone will come along with lots of links for you on a minute.
Edit: I'm a slow typer. They came along 2 minutes before I finished writing this 😂
Hi, Lucie1977 , welcome.
If you "slim smart" weight loss is not so hard! It is not all about motivation and masochism.
Some of us here find that what works is a combination of The Low Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet (see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Snacking All Day AKA Intermittent Fasting (IF). See:
