Hi everyone,
I have just been diagnosed with diabetes (3 days ago) and I would love support and guidance on this scary journey.
Don't panic. Assuming you mean Type 2 diabetes, it is reversible if not exactly curable, and you might be pleasantly surprised by the appropriate diet; it's so un-scary that many people eat this way simply for the health benefits.
Can I suggest you join the LCHF group? See here:
The NHS have a low-carb programme that you could look into:
nhs.uk/apps-library/low-car...
which apparently takes the form of an app. Frankly, though, it's not rocket science: you can start on the path to remission right now, today, all by yourself, without waiting for your cellphone to tell you what to do.

Hi, Catpur , welcome.
Weight loss is not all about motivation and masochism - if you "slim smart" it is not so hard!
Many of us here find that what works, for weight loss and diabetes, is a combination of The Low Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet (see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Snacking All Day AKA Intermittent Fasting (IF). See:
Welcome Catpur. It must be scary but also good to know that it is a disease you can do something about. Diet advice for diabetics is a battle ground. I hope you find your way.
This was my husband in February, we both embraced a lifestyle change and he is now in remission. We have both lost about 4 stone in weight. It is bloody hard but it can be done.good luck

Google 800 cal fasting. Apparently you can reverse diabetes on 800 calories a day! I've done 800 cals a day in 5.2 fast! Wishing you all the best!
