Hey, I've just joined after coming across the NHS 12 week plan which seems to be healthy and sustainable. Having done WW and SW and not found either sustainable combined with a very active lifestyle I am here to make changes!

Wishing you success on your weight loss journey
Welcome and yes the 12 week plan very good and easy to follow and you get plenty of support on here. Look at info admin will send and jump on in. Joining in a weigh day good and us Wednesday wobble warriors very supportive. One thing I would say is if doing calorie counting check your allowance on BMI calculator and eat to top end of it, rather than the general 1400. Good luck
Hey Gymgirl welcome aboard! You seem very motivated and you're right this plan is very doable (none of that points/sins malarkey 🤣) I'm looking forward to hearing how you get on! 😊
Thanks both! Yes, I am calorie counting and was aiming for a daily calorific intake of 1400 as I feel this would be sufficient? I will see how I get on. First day today of healthier eating and feeling positive. Have a good day x
Well I'm on day 3 and starting to feel better already. One thing is I just cannot believe how much food I'm eating (healthy food!) for 1,400 calories. I'm burning around 2,000-2,300 calories per day so I'm hoping for a loss of a pound next Tuesday when I weigh in. A pound a week would be great. I'm writing all my calories down what I eat as well as fibre and having around 20g fibre per day. Will check in soon. Have a good day all xx
You're best getting the appropriate calorie range for you here nhs.uk/live-well/healthy-we... as the 1400 figure is generic and suits very few of us
Thank you. I did do that when I signed up. According to the calculationi should be take having an intake of 1455 - 1871 kcal so being at the lower end aiming for 1400 I feel is enough for me but it will also for those odd days I dont stick to it like christmas dinners!!
Just as long as you know that you could have 1700 calories and still lose weight. It makes sense to me to eat as much as you can, consistent with losing weight, rather that as little as you can manage with
When I was counting calories, I lost weight while eating in the upper half of my allowance. This explains why better than I can healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
Hope you'll join a weekly weigh in and the Daily Diary, if you haven't already, They're great for ongoing support
Completely! Initially it makes sense for me to be on the lower range but I'm aware I can have more and I probably will over the weekend. I will be weighing in next week but I'm in no desperate rush to lose it all. It will come off when it comes off! Thanks for your advice it's much appreciated x
Well 6 days since I started here and 5 days since I've watched my calorie intake. I have weighed myself this morning and I've lost 2 pounds! Pleased with that xx
