I'm so sorry to hear that you are going through this trial, Marc73 . Try to see this as a challenging episode rather than the endgame. It's when we feel 'This is it; this is all that's left' that things start to feel hopeless, and it's not true, but can feel like that when we're down. As lucigret advises here, try to attain a diagnosis, even if you have to nag medical folk a a bit but also be prepared to be told it's a 'virus', then advised to go away, get plenty of rest and get on with it. If that's happened to you because the medical profession has run out of ideas you are really not alone. You will find yourself in company with many of us here for whom the need to lose weight is only one of many health challenges.

You may not want to give us more details, so in the absence of those, please look with a calm and objective mind at your diet. Perhaps it's worth dropping some things for a while to see whether that helps? It took me years, for instance, to suss that I was lactose-intolerant, a condition brought on suddenly by the birth of my second child. I love my dairy products but am much better off without them day to day.

It's also important you have someone to confide in and who can make you laugh. I also hope you manage also to take your dog out when you can. The trouble with fatigue is that it's cumulative. I went through a really bad patch a couple of years ago of watching more and more day-time tv because it allowed me to get away from negative feelings, and then of course I was snacking as I watched or drinking endless cups of BP raising coffee. Walking, fresh air and contact with nature are recognised as vital to well-being, partly because we flood our body with feel-good chemicals like serotonin when we exercise.

If turning a corner involves big steps then please take them a little at a time. Don't try for big revolutions at the moment; be kind to yourself. Even the smallest changes to your lifestyle, your diet and your habits can make a big difference.

Can I advise you to just surf through posts until you see one and an ensuing conversation which resonates for you? It will be well worth your time and you may often feel motivated to join in with an exchange. I have found great stimulation and comfort in that.

All good luck, and do get to know this forum. It will become a form of family support if you let it.

love and positive thoughts, Betty x

Welcome Marc! This is a great community and I hope it helps you find what you are looking for.

There is a lot of advise above, the most important for me is to take things one at a time, don't rush to change things and accept that real change will take sometime...
