Stir-fried chopped sprouts with sliced shallot and peas (174 calories)

Who says sprouts taste disgusting?? :-) . They've clearly never tried stir fried sprouts.

Enjoying this tonight with pan fried sea bass fillet and 150g of Jersey Royal new potatoes.....

150g of Brussel sprouts

30g of sliced shallot

5g of butter

2 tsps of olive oil

100g of frozen peas

Melt oil and butter, add shallot and chopped sprouts and fry over a medium heat stirring until browned and caramelising. Then lower heat and continue to cook for about 10 minutes until the sprouts are softened. Add the frozen peas and continue to cook through until the peas are hot.

This looks lovely. I always thought I hated sprouts as, when I was a kid, my Mum used to boil them for weeks and they were just too mushy - yeuch! Then I saw a Jamie Oliver recipe a couple of years Ago for sprouts shredded and stir fried with garlic, which was really good. Realised it’s just boiled sprouts that I don’t like. I’ve had them raw (shredded) too in a salad.

I love sea bass too - enjoy your meal 🙂.
