Hello again ! I think it was moreless that has a video on that which might help you! x
Hello Cara_moore2016 and welcome to the weight loss forum
There's an excellent video here, only 20 minutes and should point you in the right direction
And here's some reading from the Diet Doctor site. dietdoctor.com/low-carb/ben... It's a brilliant place for information and recipes, so well worth exploring.
A good place to start here on the forum is by joining a weekly weigh in and using the Daily Diary. You'll find them, plus a Welcome message and all our other activities by following this link to Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
Wishing you all the best and I hope you'll become an active member of the forum
Thank you so much! Everyone is so helpful ☺️
PS. If your username is your real name, you'd be best locking your posts; I see you also have a photo as your avatar. You can lock your post by choosing Only my community at the end of any you create.
I don’t know what any of that means I’m sorry 🙈 x
If posts are "locked", they can only be seen by members of this weight loss forum. If they are unlocked, they can be shared on the internet without your knowledge or consent. We advise people to protect their identity by locking posts.
When a post is locked, you can see a little padlock on the top line, along from your name. There isn't one on yours, that's how I knew it was unlocked.

I bet you'll want to go and have a lie down now!

The blood sugar diet changed my life! You kinda have to read the book to understand the process and science behind it. It only cost £5 on amazon and I used the programme and recipes to get me started. It’s a massive shock to the system to start with as you are on a massive calorie cut back but I can honestly say it helped me learn so much about what food my body can and can’t handle with PCOS. In total I’ve lost around 4 stone altogether by following the principals of it. I’ve made it a lifestyle now rather than a diet and that is key to making anything work successfully. The foundation of it is sort of based around a Mediterranean way of eating and keto - lots of salads, protein, oily fish etc but that the kind of food that’s perfect for us ladies with PCOS. I’ve cut out sugar, I have a sweetener in tea but that’s it, and for the most part I don’t eat white bread or white carbs of any sort and honestly I don’t miss it because I feel amazing. Fully believe in balance so I do still allow myself that slice of cake and a glass of something fun on a birthday or special occasion and we still order a takeaway once in a while but that book completely changed my view on eating and how to take care of myself. I credit it to finally falling pregnant after 6 years, and it helped so much as because of my PCOS I ended up with a mild form of gestational diabetes but I was able to manage my insulin levels perfectly because the blood sugar diet was initially started to help diabetics. Now I’m more relaxed so I stick to recipes from the book for lunches and I don’t have the sugar/carbs. But breakfast I’ll have Greek yogurt with berries or scrambled egg with turkey bacon and for dinner it will be protein with lots of veggies/salad. ‘My PCOS Kitchen’ is an online blog by a woman with PCOS and her recipes are super PCOS friendly - not to mention amazingly yummy! We have a lot of her recipes for dinner. Good luck! Xx
Thanks! I’ll have a look
