I don't know what came over me! Stuck to my meal plan today. Did lots of exercise, walking, treadmill and aerobics. Done my weekend house chores. Decided to watch a film and just felt hungry! So on the spur of the moment decided to treat the kids and I to a Burgerking meal.
It's not my usual choice. Expensive food for usually little hunger satisfaction. But I must say I did enjoy it!
Kinda gutted as I probably won't lose 2lb weight this week (might even increase but I'm fairly sure at worse will stay same).
I want to say I feel more gutted than I do but in truth for some reason I just needed it and enjoyed it and feel fine about being right back to my normal diet from tomorrow.....

Hardly ''blown your diet'' and you enjoyed it, I bet the damage isn't that great. I should confess to the piece of coffee cake I spur of the moment purchased when putting fuel in the car this week, I have no guilt about it, it was good but not that good! If we can't have the odd treat/transgression I don't think any healthy eating plan would survive more than a month or two. Back on it tomorrow. Good luck.
Usually it's a more planned treat! Like if I plan a take away Friday I will not eat anything other than a crumpet for breakfast as I know I have a bigger calorie meal to come so it limits the damage.
Hi is it possible to just make adjustments for it for the rest of the week ? Damage limitation? Pleased you enjoyed your treat though, we need the odd treat occasionally! Back on it ! x
Not so much boredom of what I eat but I think boredom did have a part to play in it! I got all my chores and exercise out the way early and had too much time to sit around. Plus I usually plan a movie with a treat day and it just feels unnatural to watch a movie without eating!
I did the same last night. Not a full meal, but a few snacks whilst watching tv. Makes me think I need to buy or prepare some “watching snacks.” Any ideas besides skinny popcorn?
My daily plans usually cater for a bit of TV time in the evening so I can cope with 20-45mins of a TV program. But a almost 2 hour movie was a different story! Would have been ok if I had planned it with my proper meal!
Not really anything useful to advise for snacks though. I eat pretty unhealthily anyways (just still in my calorie limit and so far it's still working). I like Jaffa cakes as I can nibble them slowly but only two mind! Lol
You have had a treat that's all. Im sure you'll make up for it. Sometimes we need to let go and then re focus. Ive had 2 biscuits a bit of cake and a sandwhich for lunch which for me is really bad... But then Mondays are always bad for ke as i have two of the three kids at home with me and its tiring.... Not proud ive had that rather than a salad though
Haha! Totally understandable! It's the Easter holidays soon so mine will be home all day for two weeks driving me crazy! It's extra hard as I like to do my main exercise between 2pm and 3pm when they are (usually) at school but when I've been at work then come home it doesn't feel right to go out for another hour straight away!
I have five days off this Easter too... Which makes it harder to not eat more without work as a distraction but I've worked out some meal plans of lower calorie things so I can 'eat more often' but still be in my calorie limit.
Well done you sound v organised. I also don't know how ill fit in the exercise as i usually run after drop off on my non work days with the baby and running buggy.... I may have to go at 6am pre hubby leaving.... Im keeping fingers crossed for the both of us x
I tried to do running when my youngest was in a buggy! So I know how that is!
Now it's getting lighter in the mornings it might be easier getting up at 6am! I was going to try running in the mornings but my youngest (7) always wakes when I wake! Now I do aerobics in the morning as I don't have to leave the house for that. Then walking or running when they are at school/after work time for me. AND then I do more aerobics, a walk with the kids or bit of treadmill in the evening!
It IS a lot ... I only get time for about half hour or so of TV a day but that's good as when I used to watch more TV I also ate a lot more too! And you gotta put the effort in if you truly want to see results!
Now I've lost three and a half stone lots of people are asking me how I have done it and when I say lots of exercise and counting calories you can see the gloom in their faces! Sorry but nope I don't have a super-easy magic-weight-loss secret!
Anyhoo good news... I only put 1lb on after my naughty treat and it's already gone back off so it's looking good that I stand a chance of losing at least 1lb by Friday!
All this exercise is also good for speeding up the metabolism so the odd treat (hopefully) doesn't stick around like it used to! 😁
If you have a large meal or calorific snack in the evening - a 36-hour fast seems to work wonders.
Before Christmas, I had four "festive meals" on four consecutive days, and ate One Meal A Day for those four days - and I still lost my scheduled one pound for the week!
That's a good idea! I was contemplating doing one fast day Thursday as I used to do the 5:2 so I am sure I can manage for one day to fast. But will see... I'm not too bothered about one blip in my plan!
