Hi all, I will be starting my 12 week plan tomorrow! I have tried every diet out there but each time I lose weight it comes back double so now I am weighing in at 18st 11 and according to my BMI I should be dead haha! I will be 42 in March so need to change my habits before the skin loses all its elasticity and I’m left looking like a turkey neck! Wish me luck 😁
Here we go again: Hi all, I will be... - Weight Loss Support
Here we go again
Hello Rapanui and welcome to the forum 😊
Think positive thoughts, use the support available here and - most important of all - eat enough. You may see a figure of 1400 calories: that's a generic figure that suits very few of us and will not suit you. Get a personalised calorie range from the NHS BMI calculator nhs.uk/live-well/healthy-we... It is likely to be around 1800-2200 and you would be wise to follow this recommendation and not undercut it.
This Welcome Newbies post explains how the forum works and will help you find your way around healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... Please take your time reading it so you get the best out of your time here.
A good way to start is by joining a weigh in on the day of your choice. You'll get to know a very supportive bunch of people who will appreciate your support, too.
We also ask that you read this information about internet privacy and security healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
I see your post isn't locked. This means that it, and any replies, can be shared around the Internet without your knowledge or consent (see the Twitter and Facebook logos below your post). Often that won't matter to you but sometimes people discuss personal stuff or accidentally disclose something that might identify them so we think it's a good extra level of security to lock your posts.
Take your time exploring and come back with any questions.
Wishing you all the best and I hope you become an active and supportive member of the forum 😊
Hi, Rapanui , Welcome.
I am seventy this year, and my start weight was 19St 5lb.
Why not just give up dieting, and just adopt a lifetime healthy-eating lifestyle?
Hi, yes that’s what Inwant to do make it a lifestyle change because I’m good to stick to the fad diets for a month or so lose a few stone but then it all come back on double because I haven’t changed my habits just put them on hold! Feeling good about this one.. it will be slow but I am prepared for that because usually I need fast results but I know that doesn’t work in the long run... took me 25 years of dieting to learn that haha! Good luck on your journey and with a special year of turning 70 😁
Hi BridgeGirl, thanks for the below 👍 I am allowed about 1800 a day so will stick with that! Thanks for info about locking my posts although I’m not on FB and twitter anymore but will lock it anyways so it stays in here! My weigh day is Friday ( so I can have a wine at the weekend) can’t rush into these things haha
You're welcome Look out for the weigh in on Friday (see information in the Newbie Welcome or just scroll down until you find it).
Don't be tempted to go below the bottom end of your range. You will lose weight, of course, but there's every chance you'll come unstuck. This will explain why healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
