Hi Yogibear3691,

Amazing that you lost 8 stones previously. Hopefully some of that resolve from your previous success can be useful in losing the weight you want to lose now. You will probably remember how you lost it previously, and know what helped you and what hindered you.

Starting out on anything can seem like scaling a mountain - but break it down into manageable steps and it is much more achievable. Today is the start, and hopefully you can set yourself a goal in the first instance - I usually try to lose between 1 to 2 pounds a week, as an aim, but I vary in my success - and I find this site very helpful in terms of sharing experiences and gaining hope from others.

You mentioned that you love sports - hopefully you can participate in something (obviously taking account of your minor heart condition and your GP's advice etc), and enjoy that exercise.

Have a good week.

Best wishes,

Lowcal :-)

Thanks lowcal. However my problem is in my head, I know what I did; I know what I have to do but then I will shoot myself in the foot and I cant think or know why, it is so frustrating!!

Hello, I have a minor heart condition too and was really worried about exercise. However, I spoke to my GP and they told me what my limits were and it really put my mind at rest. It also increased my motivation as it felt like I was being safe whilst exercising.

I have motivation issues and I find writing out meal plans and ticking off my 5 a day and exercise are really good ways of increasing it as i can see on paper that i am eating and exercising healthily.

Do you have a picture of yourself of when you lost the weight the first time around? You could stick that on your fridge/biscuit tin as a reminder of how amazing you did last time and how good you looked so you aren't tempted to reach for anything you shouldn't!

Good luck

Well done you that it hasn't all come back on and more.

Maybe you know that it does take work - it is a physical and a mental effort. Perhaps if you tell us more about what your 'have to do' consists of, we can see if there is anything we can think of to get you doing it?

I know what to do in the context of getting the weight of and I know how to do it, but i am sooo tired most of the time I just dont have the energy at times to do any exercise, I am going to have an early night and start pushing the exercise tomorrow. I just need someone at times to give me that little extra push
