Here we go again

I'm determined to not be fat and fifty, yes I know I've got 5 years to go yet, however I not only want to achieve losing 5 stone by then, I want to be able to maintain it. I've pretty much yo-yoed all of my adult life. Alway successful with low fat, low calorie and exercise, however I have 0 willpower and tend to find my motivation dwindles. I also have the added issue that I despise the gym and most days pain or tiredness reduces the exercise prospects.

Therefore the new plan is that by sharing this journey I will be able to remain in "The Zone". So here goes......this picture is my goal xxx

Well Steff71 you do have will power to start up in here and you will be encouraged by others in very similar positions. You have done it before so you can do it again. It sounds like your challenge is to keep doing to good things for your body once you get to your goal. There are definitely folk in here to help you with that part too.

Good luck on your journey.

Hi Steff71,

Welcome to the Weight loss NHS forum. I hope you'll enjoy participating here, and get involved in anything you like the look of in the forum - there are some great Challenges going on - and those plus our Welcome Newbie post can be found in the Pinned posts - which are located on the right-hand-side of the homepage - or at the bottom of your screen if you're accessing from a mobile device.

Maybe join us for the Monday group weigh-in, if you'd like to be part of a supportive and friendly group - the post is open till 18 00 on Friday, so you can join in anytime before then, if you want to. You can find the link in the Events section - below the Pinned posts.

The NHS 12 week plan is really good, so do have a look at that and see what you think.

Enjoy your week.

Lowcal :-)

Hi Steff71 , welcome to our merry band.

I'm 45 and my reason for joining was exactly the same. Too lose some weight & keep it off. When I started the healthy plan I set my self a target of 68kg. I managed to reach this weight about 10 years ago & felt much better.

In the last 10 years my weight yo-yo'd between 68 and 77 kg.

I'm now 71.4 kg so making progress.

Good luck xxxxx
