Hi, helian1604 , Welcome.

We will try to encourage you (you could join a weekly weigh-in group) but try to find motivation within yourself.

Try a Google search for (fat "all cause Mortality")

One of TeamAdmin will be along soon, and will give you the "Newbie Pack".

Hello helian1604 and welcome to the forum 😊

My guess would be that when you start on a weight loss plan you are too restrictive, so you soon crack. It's not really about willpower, it's about giving your body a fair chance and accepting that it may take a bit longer that you'd like - but you can get there :)

If you're going to be calorie counting, get your personalised calorie range from the NHS BMI calculator and don't be tempted to undercut it or the same thing will happen as always happens for you. nhs.uk/live-well/healthy-we...

A good way to start here would be joining today’s weigh in team. You'll get to know a very supportive bunch of people who will appreciate your support, too. Click on this link and read the opening post which will explain all healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

You'll find a list of all the forum activities here healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

..... and this Newbie pack will help you find your way around healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

We also ask that you read this information about internet privacy and security healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

I see your post isn't locked.

Take your time exploring and come back with any questions.

Wishing you all the best and I hope you become an active and supportive member of the forum 😊

Couldn't agree with anything more than this!

Changing my environment stopped old bad habits and created better ones.

Being away at my parents for Christmas meant crisps, chocolates, puddings all at hand so i indulged a bit. Now i'm back home - well my home environment i dont have them - so i cant eat them!

Eating 3 good meals a day for me means i dont need those extra's and thats what i'll be going back to again now. 3 home made meals a day!

you are not alone, and believe it or not - you DO have will power. You (and many of us) just need to cultivate it. Having to post your weight weekly is a great boost for me. Staying in a group or a forum is good. Do you have a close friend you can confide in who can help you too?

Hello Healthyheart1 and welcome to the forum 😊

You've found your way here so you must be willing to take the risk and give it a go.

Motivation comes from within. What are your reasons for losing weight? What will it mean for you? What would be different? What would you do differently? Give yourself time, write those things down and keep them to hand. Some people put their list on the fridge or inside a cupboard to remind themselves. Whatever works for you. It's your life.

A good way to start here would be joining a weigh in team. You'll get to know a very supportive bunch of people who will appreciate your support, too. Sunday's is rather quiet now so why not join in Monday's when it's open in the morning? Click on this link, read the opening post and it will explain all healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

Good for you! All the weigh ins are very supportive and they will appreciate you taking a few minutes to reply to their posts.

Choose your day and off you go :)

And don't forget, there's plenty going on every day for you to get involved in :)

I hope you're finding your way around. The forum is set up for interaction so there's no need for you to post/blog about what's going on with you.

There's the What's Happening Today? post, for a chat about whatever you're up to - doesn't have to be weight related.

I can't recommend enough joining a weekly weigh in on whatever day suits you: you'll get to know a regular team and support each other along the way.

There's the Daily Diary, where you can post your meal plans, pinch other ideas and get useful feedback.

How about the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge? Each day, we decide on two gifts we will give, one to ourselves and one to someone else.

Just get involved with what's going on, support other people - that boosts your own motivation and is always appreciated - and read how everyone else is tackling their weight.

Good luck :)
