I started on Monday ,I'm not very good at following diets on my own.But I hope this time is different as I really need to lose weight.I'm using my fitness app to track calories.

Take a look at the Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side or at the bottom if your on a mobile. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance.

Take your measurements at the start together with a photo so you can see the changes on the days the scales don't move.
We have daily weigh ins so why not come along and join us. You can find the weigh ins on the Home page in the Events section on the right. Just click on the post in Events and record your start weight and any loss/gain or maintain for the week.
To get the most of the forum be active, share tips, recipes and experiences. Read some of the posts they are very motivating.

Choose a weigh in day if you wish I know Monday's are really busy but an admin member maybe able to advise you on this. ( sorry Yellowroses just seen you have done this)

Don't go on a diet Dublet , change your mindset and go for a lifestyle change, a real adventure trying different foods, exercises and being proud of yourself.
Come on the forum regularly and join in the conversations. No one can lose your weight for you but you can get carried along by the collective enthusiasm on the forum.

Welcome Dublet, you can do this! It's my 3rd day today and I'm enjoying the community and the support here on the forum. Good luck! Someone finished the 12 week programme today and lost 10lb. I find that so motivating, just think what it would feel like.... it's there for the taking.
I joined this site in November and it is the best thing I ever done. I am so pleased I have finally found a site that I don't look at as a diet. I look at it as a change in my life. I have almost lost 2st and can't wait to get there but I am also starting to lose weight on my legs, I have had big legs all my life and can't believe they are finally getting thinner. You will get a lot of support on here. I haven't once thought of giving up since I joined. I have never felt this positive with losing weight anywhere before. Good luck with your journey. You can do this, because you are not on your own, you are with all of us. Post on here anytime you feel you are not going strong and you will receive support from others. It will help more than you think.

My only contribution is that you need to plan your food each day or it becomes too easy for things to creep in.
The Myfitnesspal app is kind of fun to use because you can see through the day how you are tracking.
I even relaised after a few days that my "harmless" skinny cappuccino was costing me 100 calories a day which I now use towards a nice dessert treat at the end of the day and just have black coffee with a splodge of milk instead.

Greetings, you will find this group very helpful. Not only to they give good advice they are all so supportive. My main tip is be honest and write everything down. You will have bad days don't beat yourself up about them, learn from them and move on. Love yourself
I have never been any good at following a diet, this site does not call it a diet, it is a change of the way we eat . I too am not good on my own, my doctor sent me to slimming world for 12 weeks. I kept going for another 12 and I lost weight, they are all very encouraging even on bad days. So far I have lost 23lbs. I joined this sight because I will soon be leaving S.W. I enjoy going but it is now my turn to do my own thing. Good luck, what ever you decide, this is a very helpful site.
