Hi, I'm new to here. Tried every diet program under the sun, but so fed up of being tired all the time and not being able to go clothes shopping. What's the best diet you have found?

The one you can stick with........
There's a lot of diets, at the end of the day all it boils down to is what your body needs to fuel itself each day balanced against the fuel you're loading it with.
Of course it gets a bit more complicated, emotions, indulgences, wants, habits, greed, countless influences.
It's a case of finding a system that works for you, for the 12 week plan the aim is to consume just a little less than your body needs, this leads to it burning fat to fill the shortfall. As your weight decreases you adjust the balance, until finally you reach goal weight where you can maintain.
Much simplified of course but basically that's the essence of it. It means you need to know what you're body needs, then you need to know what's being consumed, there's a lot of counting calories, weighing stuff, more precise but more of a pain. As you get used to it you may be able to ease off the weighing, you'll remember calories for a regular food.
Is it for you, you won't know till you try, one thing I'll tell you for free and no lie, the community here is very helpful and supportive.
Many 'diets' expect us to be saints which most of us aren't. The reality, is that we can eat well as long as we eat sensibly. In that respect Stevo has a point in that even a sensible diet has to be stuck to.
Many of us here are following the NHS 12 week plan which is downloadable from this forum's homepage or by searching online.
An admin will provide you with an official welcome shortly but do ask if you have any questions at all.
Welcome Cookymonster,
Stevo5585 has probably given you the best answer I could
There are many people here following lots of different paths, what works for one doesn't necessarily work for another. I am afraid we all have to find our own way.
Maybe start off by following the NHS 12 week plan. Come on here regularly and read and see what others are doing. Do some research on anything that sounds interesting. The biggest thing of all though is to make sure you are eating enough. Please check your personal calorie range on the BMI calculator and start at the top.

By definition, a diet is time limited, then you return to "normal" eating, so a diet can't work as a permanent answer. To lose weight and keep it off, we have to find a way of eating that is healthy and enjoyable, so it becomes a lifetime pattern. I hope you can find that for yourself
Hi Cookymonster, me too...come on now...I am new too so lets get into this together. I am tired all the time too and can't stand going clothes shopping. I am good at making plans..its just sticking to the plan that is a problem! I am not getting enough exercise either. Lets both start tomorrow...a plan, an exercise and food routing and determination to succeed.
