Hi I have done every diet under the sun and am currently back on SlimmingWorld. It has worked in the past but isn't as of yet so here I am back to good old fashioned calorie counting. My only fear is that I can't do it on my own! Xx years of being told by slimming consultants that very thing I guess xx

Joining us means you'll never have to do it on your own
Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news
Have a look at the 12 week plan, as a lot of people have been successful with it. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate
We run daily weigh-in's and you'd be very welcome to join us. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page, bottom on a mobile.
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too

You are most definitely not on your own if you have joined up here, it is an amazing supportive place. Everyone has their own backstory but we are all here for the same reason. No one will tut if you gain a pound, they will just encourage yo to stay with it for the long haul and see the results.
The NHS calorie counter is most useful as is MyFitnessPal for recording everything. Relax and enjoy your journey.

In totally the same place as you! Have done them all and did quite well on sw gotto target etc 3 years ago . Put 1 and a bit stone back on , rejoined a while ago , did everything the same but lost no weight . So idnknt seem to be able to do it going or not!! Was toying with joining again tonight but really don't want or try calorie counting . We can do it I'm sure! Maybe checking in here is just what we need xx
I have just decided to leave slimming world as I have done it 4 times and is no longer working for me, because I can't get myself to stick to it, I am going to go back to good old calorie counting too! Good luck, you can definitely do it alone!
I have just started my 6th week of calorie counting and using my fitbit charge 2 to follow my daily exercise and food eaten lost a stone more to go. It's not easy but must try and keep motivated. We are all here to offer you support to succeed
Slimming world is a business it will do its best to keep you as a client to get the money.
Most people who use these types of diets usually end up going back to their old unhealthy diet once the weight is off, Slimming world know this.
You need to change how you eat permanently not just for the short term. Its a lifestyle change that you do for the rest of your life. Once you lose the weight you keep it off, no going back to your old ways.
You can do it on your own, but you can get lots of help on here if you need it.
