Slowly adding calories to find my maintenance weight but gained 0.5 kilos. Is this water weight?

Just trying to figure out the numbers....

I've been on 1200 calories, reached my goal, yay, and am now adding calories with 50 per few days. Had 1400 the last week and gained half a kg.

While I lost about 0.5 kg per week on 1200 calories. So statistics would say I should be able to add around 500 Calories to reach my maintenance weight.

Is this water weight? And does anyone know how much weight I can expect?

Thank you

I don't know what to suggest as I'm not a maintainer yet, but just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS on getting to your target!!!

There is a maintainers club on here, where you can probably get some great advice.

Congrats! Very few people are able to reach this kind of goal :)

Half Kg added is not a big figure. But it is better you stick to 12-1300 diet.

Add more fruits and salads. Try to eat mindfully.

Sit down. ...

Take a deep breath. ...

Engage your senses. ...

Chew your food. ...

Swallow and reflect.

You will find more resources on mindful eating on the net.

That is the next level of Nutrition you need to scale. Once you do that, you never have to ever count calories. I am doing that and it works superbly.

All the best!! :)

Thanks for your reply but I really wanted to be able to eat more calories than the 1200 I have been.

I've kept adding the calories, gained a little more and hey presto.... I'm now on 1550 calories and losing weight. I still think the first weight gain was water weight being put back in my body.

I've got that balanced out now.

Going to add an extra 50 calories from today as I really don't need to lose more weight, currently at 55.5 kg. Anywhere around 57 kg is just fine.

Thanks!

It could depend on where your extra calories are coming from. Processed Carbs and booze cause me to put on water weight.

I think it was because I've been adding some more carbs.

But it seems to have balanced again.

And weight still going down, am expecting soon to be at my maintenance intake.

Thanks!
