Hi I'm new to this. I have Parkinsons Disease and due to lack of exercise find that I'm putting more and more weight on. I desperately want to lose at least 5 stone.

Welcome, great you have joined us.

Worry less about exercise and more about the food you eat.

Try to ditch any pre-prepared convenience/processed foods as they have all kinds of things in them that your body doesn’t need. Cooking from fresh ingredients is so much better for you.

Come on here loads and make best use of the support. Chat to others, get to know them and join in with things.

Enjoy your journey to your new lifestyle and make food your friend not your enemy.

Thanks for your guidance - really useful. I now have a feeling of relief that I don't have to rush at the new way of eating and excercise.

One step at a time is the best way. We all put our weight on over time and we need to be patient and take it off the same way if it is to stay off.

Take care

I'm having trouble with calorie counting - is there a quick and easy way to do this?

Try downloading MyFitnessPal. It is free. Then you enter the food and it tells you the calories. Big clunky to get used to but then it is fine.

Not what you're looking for?
