Hi, I'm new today and have read lots of things already that fill me with hope that I can finally do something about my weight. I have tried many times before and never lost more than 2 stone ( I need to lose 8+) I put it all back on every time. I now have arthritis in my knee so I'm finding exercise a real problem , but this time I'm going to stick at it!!

Hi and welcome Jadiev have a good look at the NHS 12 week plan, this is a healthy way of eating more than a diet which is sustainable and will help you lose weight

Hi and welcome
Hi. You sound ready to try again and that's half the battle. Good luck.
well hello there Jadiev! good attitude to start with, that is half the battle! you Can do this with some support (from us, hopefully!) and a little planning. I suggest you start with a food diary and honestly as hard as it is, write down everything. then look at it and see where you can possibly cut a little bit out here and there and before you realize it, you will have lost your first 2 or 3 pounds. it feels so good to know there is a new way of life and it is here, at least for me. I do not look at this like a diet but a new way of dealing with things such as stress eating and sadness and so far it has worked for me to the tune of 20 pound loss in 12 weeks. I know that sounds slow, but it is and it stays off that way.. good luck!
You must be really proud of that weight loss katy9617 Good work!
Well done katy9617 that's really a fantastic rate of weight loss. It is a healthy rate and shows you have made changes to your habits.... That's really the key to permanent weight loss.
You are doing great 😂

Welcome Lippysue have you had your welcome newbie email?

I let stress get to me earlier this year and my weight reached an all time high. The stress hasn't gone away but I'm now channeling it into healthy eating. I joined a pottery class for distraction and a new interest and I set myself weight goals of half a stone at a time as the total amount I need to lose is a rather daunting 9 stone. I cleared the cupboards of higher calorie foods and donated it all to the food bank, I've been donating the clothes that are too big too so I can't slide back into old bad habits.
In the past, I've lost about a stone before I self sabotaged but having the support and encouragement I get from this forum and my Slimming World group has made such a difference. I don't consider myself to be someone with much willpower so I know that if I can do it, you can definitely do it too! Good luck 😀👍
