Newbie...: Hi there....I'm a newbie here... - Weight Loss Support
Newbie...
Hi Olly66
Welcome to the weight loss forum.
Take a look at the Welcome Newbies post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side or at the bottom if on a mobile. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance.
Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.
Take your measurements at the start along with a photo so you can see the changes on the days when the scales don't move.
We have daily weigh ins, Monday's weigh in is over subscribed at the moment but you are welcome to join any other day. You can find the weigh in on the Home page in the Events section on the right. Just click on the post in Events and state your starting weight and any loss/gain or maintain over the week.
To get the best out of the forum be active, share experiences, tips and recipes. Read some of the posts in the Topic section, they can be motivating.
Have a good first week.
Rose
Sound so much like me - I am new too. Starting today need to lose 2.5-3 stone. Good luck to both of us
Hi Weygirl....we can start this journey together...do you know how we are meant to register our weight...trying to work mr way round this site but not sure on a few things really...😳😂
If you read YellowRose55 newbie post above it'll give you some guidance. In the events section, everyday there is a weigh-in post. Pick a day (except Monday), go into that day's weigh-in each week and post your weight.
They very cleverly keep stats on which day do best each week and you could get a lovely badge if your group do best!
Welcome to the forum and good luck!
I am not sure yet - I think under topics there is a link to Weigh-in and you join a group there depending how often you want to weigh in. Going to have a look tonight and see how it works.
Are you thinking of daily or weekly weigh in's?
Lets see how we get on - good luck 😂
Probably weekly....I usually weigh in on a Monday...but I see that the Monday weigh in is full....usually weigh before breakfast with nothing on....not a pretty sight! 🙈😂...this morning I weighed 12st 2lb 😖...I need to up my exercise .... I'm not a couch potatoe...but the gym for me is a no no!! I feel so intimidated by all those Lycra clad ladies...not their problem....more mine I'm thinking...being an older lady their stamina exhausts me 😂😂...what are your feelings...and what's your favourite form of exercise? Good luck for your first day...xx
Gym is not for me just find it a bit boring - I do a boot camp class once a week and play badminton (which is my favourite) when I can. This week I am collecting a new bike so I am hoping that this will make a difference.
Where did you find the weigh in bit? Are you going to join a different day as full on the Monday? x
I'm still not sure how to weigh in....being able to weigh in each week gives me the motivation to keep going ... Have you worked it out yet Weygirl? X
Thanks Gary
Hello, and welcome to you both - it's not so long ago that I was new so I appreciate your uncertainties! If you go to the "Home" tab at the top of the page on any given day that will take you to a page where you can see today's weigh-in on the right, under "Events", and you can post your weight via that. As for exercise - I'm a recent convert to the Leslie Sansone walking videos on YouTube so if you have a smart tv you could do some exercising from the comfort of your own front room. They range from a fairly easy 15 mins to a 45 min workout so you should be able to find something to suit. Good luck!
