I'm Jobi and I'm new to this site. I'm 52 years old, I have a very demanding office job and I am studying parttime as well. I'm 14 stone and it's not slowing down. I have an underactive thyroid so it makes it difficult to lose weight. I took part in the Robinhood half marathon but have put on weight since then and developed high blood pressure. I'm hoping joining this group will help me to 'start moving' and to look at my diet abit more. Hope to be posting good news of my weight loss journey.

Have a look at the 12 week plan, as many people have been successful following it. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate

It's only left for me to wish you well on your journey
I'm also working full time and studying part-time. It's really easy to get through the day and then realise I've done no exercise at all. I have to be really self-disciplined and schedule in my physio and a walk/ride each day. Good luck with your weight loss!
Hi Finnberry. Thank you for your reply. That's where I'm at. I'm told I have arthritis in my right hip so it gets quite stiff if I don't move. In fact, I'm quite used to sitting in front of the computer and only moving to get a drink or go to the bathroom. You are right about the discipline. Because I'm starting I feel like I've got to 'take a deep breath' and be determined...although I do feel lacking. However, tomorrow I will be in the gym in the morning and starting my diet regime...that I haven't quite worked out yet but to begin with it will be smaller portions, lots of veg and fruit and plenty of water. Hope to speak to you again soon.
