Heloo..I dip in and out of this site but am not consistent . I lost 5 stones since last year August and have four more to go. I yo yo up and down so for example I been 12 stones and up to 13 since June..up and down. I'm a new vegetarian due to changing my diet to reduce my need to take arthritis tablet's which almost killed my liver. So I'm 13 stones aiming for 9 but need help to stop gaining and loosing weight and stick to my new vegetarian healthy lifestyle. So I will do my best to visit this site at least once a week or more if I can.
Hello from Bev: Heloo..I dip in and out... - Weight Loss Support
Hello from Bev
Maintenance and ongoing weight loss is jolly hard work! I have been there... (lost 4.5 stone, re-gained 2 of those). I have realised that I can't afford to let go of logging the food that I eat and calorie counting - if I do that as often as I am able to, I am able to maintain. But I am very short (4ft 9") and mostly sedentary because of a disability.
I have found what works for me best is to cut out the processed carbs (bread, rice, pasta plus anything with flour) as well as cutting right back on the sugary things (desserts, cakes, biscuits). I just don't have them in the house any more but may have them as a rare treat when I am out (and I don't go out that often!)
I have also learned to maintain control on holiday and other trips away (I often have overnights in hotels when attending meetings).
I make it sound bleak, but I have just accepted that this is a way of life for me now. I can choose to take it - the alternative is to regain the weight I have worked so hard to lose and lose all of the great benefits I've learned to enjoy!
Hi
I’m sure regular visits will give you better support
I was vegetarian for a few years but found it really hard to get enough protein . I put on weight from consequently eating too many carbs eg pasta
Hope you do well
Hi Bev,
I know you're not technically a newbie, but I'm going to give you newbie status, so that you can look at this day as your restart day
I'd like to invite you to join our Newbie Club, which we hope will be a good place for you to connect with members, who are also just starting out, or restarting. If you just post a few words to introduce yourself and respond to others there, you'll soon break the ice. Here's the link
