Hello - I'm Jane, 64 years young and have been overweight all my life. Now I want to change that so this morning I 'googled' and here I am. Have tried lots of the popular slimming clubs, sometimes got to goal, given up and put the lot back on.

You are not alone in that losing and gaining weight see-saw, I was just the same, but this time is different so far. I’ve been on my journey for over two years and have maintained for over a year. If I can do it, anyone can. 😊
I'd like to invite you to join our Newbie Club, which we hope will be a good place for you to connect with members, who are also just starting out. If you just post a few words to introduce yourself and respond to others there, you'll soon break the ice. Here's the link

Hello,
I am new too, and new to social media. Like you, I have been overweight most of my life - not a lot, but enough to make food this constant, constant battle. Reading around on this forum, I have decided that is a great place for me to change my mental attitude to food - and I fully intend on supporting and 've supported by everyone on this forum.
So the very best to you.
ditto 65 this week, had bloods taken last week as weight going up and symptoms. Hope u succeed and maintain your weight loss this time. 👍
Hi Dobo20. Welcome to the group. I started on October 8th because I needed to do something about the weight this time.
Check out the NEWBIE CLUB in pinned posts opposite and you will find all the information you need to continue your journey. People are very helpful on here and it is a great place to swap ideas and compare experiences while losing the weight.
Good luck!
Welcome Dobo20 to this forum that highly recommends a healthy lifestyle change and no restrictive diets! Restrictive diets are not sustainable for long-term weight loss and indeed as you say, once you stop, all the weight comes back plus extras.
Start by computing your daily calorie range for weight loss and eat healthy, nourishing foods that are satiating to keep you full longer. The NHS 12weeeks programme is good to start with. Planning and prepping your meals in advance will really go a long way too.
All the very best!
Good luck newbies Dobo20 , Deni52 and claire887 I'm sure you will find this forum really helpful and friendly
