Hi there, I like the look of the NHS weight loss planner. I think its a good idea to have people here to chat with so as to encourage one another. I am feeling motivated at the moment, in part because I have serious problems with a hiatus hernia and really really must loose weight! I have struggled a lot with weight loss over the years.
Hello! I'm new here.: Hi there, I like... - Weight Loss Support
Hello! I'm new here.
Hello and welcome to the Weight Loss Forum
First of all, to help you find your way around, and enjoy all the things we have on offer, please read the Welcome Newbies Post here healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
Take your time to read it carefully as it has lots of information.
The best advice I can give is to eat enough. If you are following the NHS 12 Week plan then the 1400 calorie target suggested is a just generic amount, please check your own personal calorie target using the BMI checker, it’s often higher than you think. We always advise starting towards the top of the range, being hungry is the single biggest cause of weight loss failure.
I also highly recomend coming onto the forum regularly, daily if you can, reading posts and replying to others. Being part of a community is proven to help weight loss. Why not join our daily chat thread ‘What’s Happening Today?’
For your own privacy and safety online we suggest that you lock your posts by selecting ‘followers in my community’ when you write a new post. Please read our security post here. healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
Out of interest, can I ask how you found us?
Best wishes for your weight loss journey
Indigo 😊
Welcome PurpleTulip
Indigo has given you a link with lots of info and within that you'll find links to the NHS 12 week plan and the NHS BMI calculator that she has mentioned.
Do ask as many questions as you need.
Good luck!
Hi PurpleTulip Health issues are a great motivator for many of us, I found my way here after the doctor challenged me to lose 30kg in 6 months so I could have a repair to a para-umbilical hernia, the encouragement and tips you get have helped keep me on track. As IndigoBlue said find your way around the site and join in. The weigh ins are useful, whichever day suits you best, you will find lots of cheer leaders for your losses and sympathetic hugs for those inevitable blips. Good luck on your journey, you are not alone.....onwards and downwards!
It is hard to do when you are poorly. Good luck. Trying hard myself
thanks so much
