Hi everyone. I have over 3 stone to lose - so lots of encouragement needed. All my interests involve sitting down so I will have to get myself into gear and move!!!!
It is def harder to lose weight and get motivated in your 60's
I have a problem with lymphodaema following removal of lymph glands so some days mobility is a problem but I still need to do something on those days.
Any suggestions - pls dont say swimming as I know I would not get to the local pool.

Being in your 60’s is no bar to losing weight. I will be 71 at the end of the month and have done it ( 16 kg) since 29 June and am on target to be at healthy BMI on or before my birthday.
I have done this by 8 week blood sugar diet and walking at least 10000 steps a day
One doctor told me it was harder the older you get but if you are determined and single minded and purposeful it can be done,

Best wishes for success because by losing weight you will gain a new lease of life
Tks pcrw for your reply. I am trying to get into a routine of getting up 10 mins earlier. I do a short lying down work out to get the glands pumping in my legs before I get out of bed - have extended that and have set myself the task of using the stairs at least once an hour so I am not sat down for longer. I find it hard to do 10,000 steps a day but am determined to extend my 15 minute a day static bike by 10 mins per week, so by the end of the 12 week program I should be biking 2 hrs 15 minutes per week.
My diet is fine if I just slim it down by a couple of hundred cals a day.the scales were kind today and have lost 2lbs over the last 2 days - I dont weigh everyday but try and keep to twice a week at the same time.
Yes I do hit - can only manage 1 minute in 5 full on 3 times in the 15 with a 5 minute slow down - but do hope to build on this. Yesterday was a good exercise day - 20 minute bike with 2 x 1.2 mile brisk walks - no weight loss this morning but I am happy with my 2lbs loss for this week - if I could match that every week would be a happy bunny. I am a big fan of Dr Moseley - he has a great matter of fact attitude and always shows how to do things in a practical way - he has converted me to Kefir (eastern european pro biotic) and I use it every day in my smoothies.
Left leg is good today - only 2" larger at the top and 1" at the ankle and doesnt feel too tight.
I go for physio next week - lets hope they can get to the bottom of the problem of my left leg. I have had every test and scan known to man but they still don't know why left is bigger than right as the lymph glands were taken from the right side not the left ????
