I hate salad too! I’ve just swapped white bread for wholemeal, eat smaller portions, drink PLENTY of water (I don’t think I’ve been to the toilet this much in my life!) you’ve got the exercise down so that’s good!

Good luck!

Bigkevdadof3 yeah, it may feel like you’re not going to be full. But I’ve been full from the start, drink water before, during and in between meals, it helps to fill you up! That’s one thing that’s helped me! If you like fruit, have some grapes or apple or whatever you prefer in between meals with water! Hope this helps!

Diets isn't all about salads! However, I love salad - but not just leaves, tomatoes and cucumber - mine have olives, beetroot and more recently quinoa (that's a new one for you!), grated carrot, chopped nuts, blue cheese, pear, chopped peaches/mango (yep - on a salad!)

Portion sizes and examining just hoe many calories you are consuming is a great way to start.

You are male, tall and mobile (and active) so you have an advantage over me! Sounds like the willpower (commitment) needs a bit of work though..... :D

Here are a few of my past posts which I hope you will find helpful and inspiring. I won't try and tell you that my journey was easy - and you'll see that there were many blips along the way, but 5 years down the line, I feel about 20 years younger than I did when I was lugging around 4 stone more.

Please do pop back to the forums and share your journey with us - we are here for you, day and night and happy to share your success or support you when you need it.

Hi big Kev dad of 3

Firstly I may have the solution for your heel pain as it cured my husbands

If you go to Boots or other large chemist you should find some inserts for your shoes which stop your feet from rolling on to their outer edge . Within 24 hours my husbands heel pain lessened and disappeared within days. Boots make some which are a bit cheaper than Dr scholls version.

Hope they work for you

As for losing weight the only wAy is to eat less calories than you expend. Are you counting all food and drink you consume?

Best wishes

Swimming is another excellent calorie burner which will take the weight off your heel. Also cycling. If you are not a veg lover, maybe look at some of the high protein low carb ways of eating which suit some people? The heel pain, if it is plantar fasciitis, can be improved by exercise too - pull your toes towards you when laying flat, especially before you get up in the morning; this stretches the tendons under your feet. I found wearing "Crocs" helped mine when I had it for a while. Once the weight goes down, there will be less weight on your feet so the problem will probably go. At 6ft 4" you haven't got to lose a lot before you will be in the right weight range for your height.
