I’m probably not the best person to offer advice. I’m on a journey myself. I’m trying to keep under 1000 calories by eating three regular healthy meals. Although my lunch is fruit. I need to loose twenty stone. Everyone is different. Eg. I’m not keen on sweet things. I think we all have to limit something we like and is the problem. Mine was beer.

Hi Mikebez, why are you keeping under 1000 calories? You’ll never survive on that!

Go to the NHS BMI calculator and enter your details: that will give you a calorie range which will be way above 1000. If you follow that advised range and make good choices for using your calories, you can expect to lose 1-2 lbs per week. You’ll be able to stick with it and it will be sustainable. Dieting, particularly extremely low calories, will do you no good

Hello Virtue and welcome 😊

Dealing with Type 2 diabetes is not just about losing weight: it’s also about changing what you eat. There’s lots of information on this in the first link lucigret has given you. You might also find this helpful diabetes.co.uk

Nice to meet you, Virtue. Who/what are the most precious on this earth for you? My guess is it’s your children and, in time, your grandchildren? You have the best of incentives to help you lose weight so you can see them grow up! I really hope you can succeed! Lots of people on this site have lost lots of weight and reading their stories are also a massive incentive! I would also suggest you chose a day fro a weekly weigh in! That really is a disciplinary exercise and keeps me motivated and focussed! Good luck!
