Welcome Barry, you will find lots of support here. Visit regularly and join in the conversations, make your own commitment about what you will change initially. Plan your meals, and snacks if you eat them.
Many sure you know how many calories you should be consuming and think about a lifestyle change rather than a diet.

Hi Barry, and welcome!
I hate it when clothes get too tight. I was also horribly surprised at how much I could put on without noticing. You're definitely in the right place to do something about it. For me, it's a change to a healthy lifestyle rather than a diet. If I can't maintain the changes, it'll all just go back to pot when I hit my goal. So I'm trying to learn to eat better and exercise more to carry forward. Surprisingly, I'm finding the exercise easier to maintain than healthy eating. I eat generally healthy, but then the snacks will get me every time. But that's why I'm here!
I definitely suggest the NHS 12-week plan to get you started. It has some great tips and information.
Good luck!
Welcome to the forum. I am losing weight for my wedding despite the fact that my fiancé and I haven't set a date for our wedding yet. I am currently following Slimming World but weighing in at my mum's house instead of going to the meetings because I am in the process of moving and saving for my wedding. I have lost 7 1/2lbs in the last 5 weeks. I love the forum and I appreciate the support that I get from other forum members as well as family and friends.
Hey Barry! It's crazy how easy it is to pack it on and how painstaking it is to melt it off😩 Just think in a couple months those shirts could fit perfectly again!!
H Barry and welcome to the forum
