Lulu99 is quite correct if it's the HU app you're referring to, as it doesn't give you access to the most important areas of the forum and will make navigating extremely difficult. It's completely unnecessary, as you can access the full website using your browser, as those of us with Android phones have to anyway.
If you're referring to the 12 week plan app, I'm afraid I can't help you, as I've never used it.
There's plenty of information here to help you on your journey, just follow this link to our chat thread and a list of all the activities we run. We've found active participation to be key to success, especially with our weigh-ins and Daily Diary.
And another one suggesting that you ditch the App. I use my mobile for most of my access to this Forum, but do it from the full website, which contains far more functionality and so on than the App - and I find it works just fine. You may find people talking about badges and so on which you just will not see otherwise.
Looking forward to seeing you again later - and "engaging" is definitely the right approach. The more you join in with us here, and post on different threads, commenting, chatting and asking about things, the more you will find you are motivated to stay out of the kitchen cupboards.
I find that keeping out of the kitchen (after 14:00) helps - but, you are right - not snacking in the evening is a good initial methodology!
If you "slim smart" weight loss is not so hard! It is not all about motivation and masochism.
Some of us here find that what works is a combination of The Low Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet (see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Snacking All Day AKA Intermittent Fasting (IF). See:
