Hi, I am new to this app but I am looking to drop my weight as I have finally had enough of not fitting in clothes that I like. I am currently on week 1 of the plan and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction for exercise, as I have noticed that at present I don't do any. Any ideas for cheap or free ways to exercise which will aid my weight loss??

Morning EMJONES1195

Welcome to the weight loss forum. I use walking and my exercise bike for my daily workout and that is working fine for me, 5st 1lb lost so far. Other members doing running or swimming. Why not have a look at the challenges on the forum to start you off, they are in the Pinned post section.

Take a look at the Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side or at the bottom if your on a mobile. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance.

Have a look at the Daily Diary which you can find on the Home page in Events. It is where all the members are sharing their daily plans on what they are eating and any exercise they are doing. This thread will give you some ideas on how to start.

Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.

Take your measurements at the start together with a photo so you can see the changes on the days the scales don't move.

We have daily weigh ins so why not come along and join us today. You can find the weigh ins on the Home page in the Events section on the right. Just click on the post in Events and record your start weight and any loss/gain or maintain for the week.

To get the most of the forum be active, share tips, recipes and experiences. Read some of the posts they are very motivating.

Have a good first week.

Welcome to the forum. I am losing weight for my wedding despite the fact that my fiancé and I haven't set a date yet. I am following Slimming World but weighing in at my mum's instead of going to meetings because I am saving for my wedding and I am in the process of moving. I have lost 5 1/2 lbs in 4 weeks. I really like this forum and appreciate the support I get from other members as well as friends and family.

One of the sort of things you could is put some music on in the house and just make sure you dance to it. This is a free and easy way to get some exercise. You could occasionally get your partner to dance with you if you tell him you want to practice the way you would dance at your first dance to make sure you don't make mistakes. I did this sometimes with my partner before we got married and it made sure there was no problems with either of us standing on the others foot or going different ways to the other. It worked perfect for us. You could also have a look online and see if there are any free ways to exercise. There are some out there but I cannot remember them because of my epilepsy, it effects my memory. Good luck with getting some though.

Hi HubbysMissMouse

Thank you for the idea of music. I do love to dance around especially when doing the house cleaning. I will give this a go next time.
