Been having a bit of a break.

Have had a break this week from dieting as no matter what I do the weight is not dropping and have put on a couple of pounds and felt I just needed a break and take time to look at what I'm doing. I have still been exercising however so have decided to get back to eating healthy this week and keep going to the pool bbc and gym also will be digging my allotment this week. I am not going to bother with the scales and will keep measuring myself instead as I think some of it has to do with my underactive thyroid. So am feeling a bit more positive this morning.

Sometimes a break can help Little-t38 😊

Why don't you join us on the April-reboot? It may help 😊

Hi Little-t38, are you having treatment for your underactive thyroid? Otherwise you are going to really struggle to get any weight off. If you are, you maybe need a thyroid function test, just to make sure you're on the right dose.

Bit of a clue in one sentence of your post: 'Have decided to get back to healthy eating......' which infers you have been eating otherwise! Even if you've only had small portions of junk food, the high fat, carbs, sugars etc will tell and your weight will suffer.

Good luck with your re-boot, you're obviously already doing lots of exercise so that's a really good step in the right direction!

Think I splurged last week because I was so fed up with seeing no change but I just have to get a grip and realise that it's not all going to happen straight away. I do take thyroid medication but I also take anti depressants so I think it is just a combination of things. I will get there.

Measuring is good when the scales show no weight loss. Exercising can make your muscles firmer and heavier, so that could be what's happening.

I agree with battlethebulge too, you might need more medication. I remember my Mom having blood tests every so often and I mean they'd rake around 15 vials of blood. These days they don't seem to do that.

Great that you have an allotment to burn some calories in - nothing like a little digging and weeding, bending and stretching to help you get stronger and feel brighter. Just soak your poor back well in a hot bath afterwards!

I have just got back into my calorie counting, having let things slip since christmas, and have decided that the resulting 10lbs gained has got to go. It is too tempting to rely on comfort foods and the odd glass of wine when life gets tough; and it does us no good in the long run.

Stick with those positive feelings and one day at a time, things will improve.
