Hi Rosie and welcome. It is great that you have decided to take charge of things, but did you check the BMI calculator to find your healthy weight range? nhs.uk/Tools/Pages/Healthyw... 8 stone is a very low weight unless you are quite short. If you are taller than 165 cm, 8 stone is underweight, if you are 155 cm, it is the middle of your healthy BMI.
Hi. Thankyou .x Yes I checked the bmi calculator and i am 154cm so losing 2stone would be ideal. 8stone was a good weight for me, although for my height the bmi calculator worked out that i should be around 7stone. That would be too low for me i believe. Hahah.
Two stone is definitely doable - I lost 2 stone in the autumn (have a look at my profile if you want to see my progress chart) using the NHS 12 week plan. I counted calories using My Fitness Pal most of the time. And I started running with the NHS Couch to 5K programme which is really recommendable if you are dreaming of becoming a runner.
Hello Rosie31uk and welcome to the Weight Loss Forum π
You are right to tackle your weight before it becomes a bigger issue, but please check your bmi to make sure you will be a healthy weight π
Here are a few suggestions for getting the most from the forum.
The first place to look is at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread first and move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you βΊ
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news βΊ
Have a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as many people have had success with it. Also use the BMI checker to find your target calories, it's important to eat enough. This was a major turning point for me, realising I could eat anything I wanted as long as the calories are accounted for βΊ
Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate βΊ
The forum also have group weigh-ins every day if you wish to take part. The posts can always be found in the Events section on the 'home' page βΊ
You'll notice a grey box next to people's names, these are achievement badges, and as a new member you may have a 'Newbie' badge. If you have any questions or would like a Newbie badge please just ask βΊ
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too βΊ
