Welcome to Maintainers Club this November where we celebrate the highs and lows of maintaining. π
The above photo was taken by a friend in the nearby deer park. Its the rutting season hence the stag looking so magnificent.
I haven't logged on to this forum for some time for various reasons. Firstly and maybe someone can tell me how to put this right I haven't been getting any notifications.
Secondly I had a bad fall six weeks ago and broke my right shoulder and foot. What a palaver that has been as I'm right handed. I couldn't do much for myself for the first couple of weeks one of them being using a laptop. Hence no posts from me.
I've recovered a lot now but it has been a big learning curve. Did you know you can't wash your hands if you can only use one hand not to mention toileting and showering?
When things were at their worst I was relying on my husband to cook. I had to accept and eat whatever he felt able to cook. Actually he has been a star I couldn't have coped without him. I wasn't able to stand on the scales and had a big boot on my foot anyway. So it was with great trepidation that I stood on the scales for the first time about a week ago, preparing for the worst and low and behold I was a few ounces under 10 st which was basically the same as I was before my accident. ππ
10st is right at the top of my range and I would be happier half a stone lighter. I downloaded the nhs app before my accident and was alarmed to find that 10st is overweight for me and 9st7lb is the top of the range π±
What about you? I'm hoping you're going to share that you've had a brilliant month and that you've found the secret to maintaining long term, especially when the weather gets colder. On the other hand if things haven't gone so well we're all here to support and encourage. Looking forward to reading your news, thoughts and tips.
