Welcome to the weight loss forum.
Take a look at the "Welcome Newbies" post in the pinned post on the right hand side or at the bottom if on a mobile. There are links to the nhs 12 week plan and the BMI checker to work out our daily calories.
Feel free to join in with any of the challenges also in the pinned post section. They are fun to do and a great way to keep us motivated.
Our weigh-ins are from Monday to Saturday, Monday and Tuesday are FULL at the moment, but feel free to joins us any day from Wednesday to Saturday.
Enjoy your first week.

Have you read/talked to your GP about Michael Moseley's book The Blood Sugar Diet.... although not diabetic, I followed the menu plans and lost (for me) a good amount of weight. But more importantly, he does discuss weight and diabetes in great detail. Might help?
Hi there, I'm sure you will get ideas and loads of motivation from here
I am 5ft exactly and currently am 12st 3lbs, about 8 yrs ago I used to have 2 sugars in my tea I don't know if you have any sugar in your drinks but a few years ago I changed this gradually to 1 spoon of sugar and 1 sweetener. Then when I got used to this I changed it to 2 sweeteners. Eventually I managed to change this to 1 sweetener. I still haven't fully got rid of the sweeteners but still, when I did this my weight did drop from 14st down to 11st. I did manage to keep it at 11st until last year when I drank some nutrient dinks which I didn't realise was nutrient drinks at the time so they put 2st on me. If you do have sugar in drinks and cereal try to swap it to sweeteners and remove if you can cos it makes a big difference.
