Hey I'm 40 years old and 18 stone.... Need to drop 8 stone within the next 2 years for my health. All motivationion welcome!

Hi Ruth!

Well done for taking that first big step in deciding to start your weight loss journey! My start weight was very similar to yours, and just over 3 months later I'm now down by just over 2 stone, so it definitely is possible! Wishing you all the best in your new lifestyle. :) x

Hi. Your target is definitely doable. If you lose a lb a week that's more than 3 stone in a year. Good luck, you can do it!

Welcome to the Weight Loss Forum

Have a good look around the forum especially the Newbies post (in the Pinned Posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile) and also the links to the NHS 12 week plan weight loss plan. This is an excellent plan with weekly email support.

The forum has weigh in threads on 6 days of the week that you are welcome to join, as well as regular challenges and progress 'badges' including a 'Newbie' one for when you first join the forum. If you would like one I can arrange that so just ask ☺

Don't forget to take your initial measurements and photographs as it's a great way of seeing just how far you've come, especially when the scales aren't co-operating.
