Hello

The bmi calculator suggests I need to shift 6 stone- help!!!

7 years ago I lost 5 stone and keapt it off but since changing jobs I have ballooned.

Last time I lost the weight I did it by taking up running and exercising one hour a day but realistically that’s not an option right now.

Welcome, Tracy-Lu Tracy-Lu, this is the place to be for help and support along the way in your weight loss journey 😊 when I checked the bmi calculator, it said I needed to lose 7 stone 😱 after the initial shock, and some advice from the lovely people here, I don't think about the big number, but focus on smaller goals, which are much less scary 😵 I think it's very off-putting otherwise if you look at the total you want to lose, and I would be very likely to give up. But I'm still here, still plodding on & there's always someone here for a chat, some advice, a rant if things are getting you down or to cheer you on when it's going well 😊 wishing you well on your journey, hope to see you around 👍

Hi Tracy. Firstly, well done on joining. I know what it's like not being able to exercise as much due to work but the system still works! You will get there, nice and slow and steady. And you'll find a new way of eating that works around busy schedules. It's like other folk have said, small bite size goals and if you get a wobble, post it and people will help you and give you lots of support. Good luck!

My wake up call was to be in the morbidly obese category but now I have lost just over a stone I feel so much better . Do it in stages . Maybe you will hit a weight where you feel comfortable at . 6 stone maybe too much as I now know that I would not feel right being exactly at my recommended weight as I like my body with a few curves and my face not looking gaunt and tired .

Hi

I Walk as much as i can ... it all adds up ... running no good for the hips anyway .. many chiropractors confirm that ... if I can cut down on sugar drastically ... or completely apart from fruit ( eaten ..not juiced because fibre in it helps release innthe body slowly and so more satiating ... I’m not a doctor though so this is only what I’m doing of course :0)
