Hi all,

I am 42 years old this year and I'm sick sick sick of being frumpy.

I was 15 stone but now 13 stone. Have 4 more to go!

Have tried Weightwatchers, Slimming world and 5:2 but can't shift these 4 stones!

Anyway hello! :-)

Hi Healthyhug and welcome to the forum.

Check out the Welcome Newbies post in the pinned posts section (to the right of your screen on a pc, bottom on a mobile) - this contains some great info for starting out and navigating your way around the site.

It's important you eat the right amount of calories for you weight and height. Check out your allowance on the NHS BMI calculator as everybody's allowance is very individual.

nhs.uk/tools/pages/healthyw...

Take all of your before measurements and maybe a photo.

We run weigh-ins from Tuesday to Saturday (at the moment Wednesday and Saturday are our least busy days) and consider joining some of our challenges as they are fun and motivating.

We also offer a Newbie badge for the first twelve weeks, if you would like one, let me know.

Best of luck and looking forward to seeing you around.

Hi. How tall are you?

Nearly everyone here knows just what you have been through, Healthyhug. We all struggle with sticking to it. I've been doing quite well for four weeks, then fell off the wagon today. Ouch! But one raindrop doesn't make a shower, so I have to tell myself it's not ruined, not wrecked, it's just a blip. Get back on that wagon and keep going. So I shall do that. I can do that.

You can do it this time. We are all here for you. 😊

Welcome to the Weight Loss Forum ☺ and very well done losing 2 stone ☺ Try to focus on that when you feel despondent.

Weight Loss plateaus are not unusual. I have had to be extra strict, increase my exercise, and also slightly change what I eat, for example, a little less carbohydrates and slight more protein. This is working but the losses are slow. 😕

I try not to focus on how far I have to go but other measures of success. We call them 'non scale victories' (NSVs) increasing fitness, more energy, nicer clothes etc ☺

What eating plan are you following just now? Have a look at the 12 week plan, it's very easy and you get weekly emails ☺

Best wishes

Anna

Hello! I do like your name! I find that being involved in this forum and chatting to people on a daily basis is a real recipe for success, far more than a once a week trip to a church hall to be weighed! There's lots of mini challenges to join in with and help to keep you focused. Welcome!

Not what you're looking for?
