I feel the same. Just trying to get in the right frame of mind. Hoping that by joining this group, I am taking it seriously now. The last time I lost weight (about two years ago), I really enjoyed it and did well. At first, I just concentrated on eating healthily .....fish, white meat, veg, etc... It worked a treat. I built up the exercise, but nothing too strenuous. On the days when I over indulged, I didn't let it get me down, just tried that bit harder the next day. Amazing how that worked.

Good luck, I am sure you can do it.

Hi Jackitty - I totally sympathise. I had a similar experience in that I had always had a waist but over the period of 50 years old to 60, I had a sedentary job, stopped walking the dog (she died) and forgot to look at my sideways profile. It came as a horrible shock to find that while I still had shape (more or less) looking straight on in the mirror, I had changed shape totally when viewed from the side! You would think that buying larger sized clothes would have alerted me, but I guess you just don't see what you don't want to see, sometimes. Great motivation though once you lose enough to drop an inch off the waist and can contemplate buying new clothes in a smaller size - even if it isn't quite yet for me! I am a notch tighter on my jeans belt, but have another half stone to go I think before I have actually dropped a whole clothing size. The NHS 12 week plan is a great place to start and I just did the Leslie Sansome Happy Walk (15 mins only) on Youtube, which others on this forum had recommended - great stuff! Good luck
