Hi and welcome, tine
Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news
Take a look at the 12 week plan, as a lot of people have been successful with it, making sure to enter your details into the BMI calculator, to get a calorie allowance tailored to your personal requirements. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate
We run daily weigh-in's and you'd be very welcome to join us. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page, bottom on a mobile.
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too
It's only left for me to wish you well on your journey
Hi tine510'
Having asthma doesn't help does it. Not been able to exercise this week. We're dog sitting a spaniel and my asthma, which is normally under control and our own dog does not affect, has been giving me hell. Am only able to do walks without steep hills this week and only going half as far as usual.
Take it a day at a time and only do what you can manage exercise wise, even if its just a stroll. Every little helps.
Hi I'm a 59 year old woman and I to have fibromyalgia and have put on weight over the last few years I started this program saying lets give it a go as when I go to the GP they often talk about weight I'm now in my 5th week and have lost 11lb and I'm taking exercise adapted to how I'm feeling so I wish you all the best
Hello and welcome tine510 ☺
Slow and steady wins the race ☺ Have a good look around the forum and ask if you have any questions ☺
Best wishes
Anna
Think of it as going on an adventure don't think of it as going on a diet 2 main things are cut down your portion size and pick your snax carefully after that the world is your oyster because their are lots of low calorie foods that taste really good. Smoothie s and soups are good ways to fill you up and taste good too. As for exercise their are lots that you can do from your arm chair like flei bands. When you loose some weight celebrate, an outing or buy something new. Good luck on your adventure.
