Hi. I am new to this. I really don't like myself at the moment. I am on a short break at the moment but will be home tomorrow and need to do something about the weight I have put on recently. I'm so fed up, I saw myself in a full sized mirror where we are staying and I feel so ashamed that I have let this get out of hand. I've ordered some scales from Amazon so they will be arriving tomorrow when we get home so I can actually know how much weight I have gained. I will be starting my healthy fitness plan on Saturday but will definitely need some encouragement and support as I keep trying and failing which is why I have joined HealthUnlocked.

Well worth noting your weight and grab a couple of photos of yourself (even if you don't like them) because you'll be pleased you had them when comparing to the 'after' photo.
Hey cantbeasked, I know exactly what you mean and this year has seen me lose a lot of weight and put it back again. Time and tiredness have been my biggest hindrances, so watch out for them. Learn to embrace the feeling of hunger, because you'll feel it a lot to start with. Just remember that protein will help this, chicken, bacon, nuts...all help you feel fuller for longer. Good luck on your journey and I hope you get to the place you want to be.
Thanks Wordworth2, I will probably follow slimming world. I have lost weight on that before so fingers crossed I will keep to it.
I lost a bit over 3 stone with SW and have kept if off for several years so it definitely can work. I still eat more or less the same way but with fewer carbs and less worrying about everything being low fat and I'm losing a bit more.

For me the hardest bit is weighing myself after I've put on weight and seeing the realisation of eating habits so well done on ordering the scales 👍
You also have an eating plan to follow which is great
All I would suggest now is join us for our daily diaries and weigh ins as these are a great source of encouragement and food ideas
