Help
Hey to lose 1lb a week you need a calorie imbalance of around 3500calories - so eat 500 cals a day less without changing anything else and you'll roughly lose 1lb a week - do a little exercise like walking and that'll help even more - it's simple really
I find that I have lost more wet since I got my fit bit. I register everything I eat and all my exercise and it tells me how many calories I have used and how many I have eaten. Shocked to discover how difficult it is for me to use the 2000 cals the average woman is supposed to use. If I have a lazy day I only use about 1550 calories so to lose 1lb a week on days like that I can only consume 1050 calories Came as a shock but made me realise why when I was 'dieting ' on 1500 cals a day I was not losing as much as I expected, in fact, very often nothing at all.
I have just got a Fitbit. Do you know how to make the distance into miles rather than kilometres. I'm used to imperial but can't figure out how to do it. Any ideas. Love your post and no wonder my weight loss is slow.
Sorry I can't help, looking at it on iPhone but when I am able will have a look on laptop to see if I can help. Mine is in miles so I think there must be a way of setting it up
I only use the app in my phone and that's were I set it up. The instructions say tap on the gear sign from dashboard to change settings but I havent got a computer. Just use my iPad and iPhone. Thanks
Hi Florence 181230 just looked on the computer and it is on the settings under the gear sign that the change can be made.
Can you get a computer page on your iPad?

Thank you everyone who replied and advised
Hi, there is lots of good advice been offered which I truly believe. Please try the 12 week plan, check your BMI, and go from there. Don't get disheartened as I have found it is much better when the weight comes off slowly as it then stays off. Do keep a record of what you eat calorie wise and you will identify where you might be overindulging which can be of great help. Have faith in yourself and you will do it. Best wishes.
